It’s important if you are new to reading spiritual books, that you pick ones that are easily understood. This is not to say you won’t be able to comprehend other more advanced texts, but you might get discouraged and why do that? Here are 5 of my all-time favorite spiritual books and authors:
1. Gabrielle Bernstein is very related and the concepts she introduces are straightforward. Super Attractor helps explain the concept of manifestation while The Universe Has Got Your Back us about leaning into your faith. All other books are stepping stones to the greater spiritual picture.
2.Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert was one of the books that just hits you between the eyes and you wonder why you didn’t see the world in the way she describes before. Creativity is the center of this book but you will soon see how that is all about Spirit and your connection to it.
3.The Artist Way by Julia Cameron is a classic book about creativity, but in truth this book teaches you how to get in touch with your inner self and how the world is an amazing miracle. The practices she outlines in her book will leave you wanting more and she has written 40 plus books!
4. Bob Goff! This guy is a Christian writer and references the bible occasionally and may not be typically labeled “spiritual”, but he is an amazing man with amazing stories! The themes of love and kindness really are all about spirituality. Try his book “Love Does” to get a flavor of Bob’s relatable demeanor and sense of humor.
5. Lori Deschene’s Tiny Buddha – Simple Wisdom for Life’s Hard Questions book is a quick reference of sorts. She answers universal questions about love, pain, meaning, possibilities to name a few. This books is a great way to digest small bits of what it means to spiritual.
